The Job

The Company

BSV are hiring for an experienced Trend biased Controls Engineer to work on the Project Delivery Team of our client’s ongoing portfolio of Control System installation projects to generally assist in the commissioning process of control systems to End-User’s satisfaction. You will be reporting to the Project Engineer and Project Manager. Our client is looking for someone who can organise their time effectively and responsibly and who’s not going to bite off too much than they can chew. If you’re a Controls Engineer who takes pride in their work and believes a good job only needs doing once, then this is the role you’ve been waiting for, regardless of qualifications.

The Role

• Assist with the design requirements of each control system project, seek information and implement the control system design as required. To include for example: Control Panel Drawings, Control Valve Selection Schedules, Des of Ops, DDC Strategy and/or Graphics Details.
• Produce as required. RFIs, Tech Subs, Progress Reports, Commissioning Reports and the like.
• Ensure proper up-to-date and detailed technical records are kept and produce Project O&M Manuals.
• Commissioning systems to include field wiring checks and motor rotations, control panel adjustments such as fuse rating checks and overload settings, and carry out full control circuit functional tests and controller performance (including confirmation of correct DDC).
• Attend as necessary any co-ordination meetings to ensure commissioning will take place to program.
• Record and report as necessary any outstanding work that may delay the commissioning.
• Only proceed with any extra work after proper customer instruction has been obtained. If in doubt confirm this with the Project Engineer or Project Team Manager.
• Keep records and good stock control of materials and company equipment used, and at all times endeavour to keep such items safe.

Qualifications & Experience

• City and Guilds, HND or relevant degree is preferred but not essential
• IEE Wring Regulations 17th Edition Preferable but not essential
• TREND and BACnet experience Preferable but not essential as training will be provided
• Strong Communicational skills and a true team player
