This is a Contract Manager role for a construction company that has an enviable trading history in the Home Counties Construction sector. Based in Kent, they are a main contractor that operate Traditional procurement and Design and Build projects in Refurbishments, New-Build, Renovations and Extensions sectors. They have a turnover in excess of £40m and specialise in bespoke projects.

The Role

Our Construction client is highly experienced building professional company that is currently looking to appoint a Contracts Manager with expertise in managing complex projects from initial plans to completion, managing an office and working to budgets.
The idea Contracts Manager’s major strengths will be in managing the delivery of practical solutions to complex problems, underpinned by sound technical knowledge and understanding of industry regulations.
You should be a skilled team manager who has demonstrated success in running staff within the office environment and across multiple building sites.
You will also build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders including clients, architects and surveyors - together with suppliers and subcontractors and your own team.
The Contract Manager responsibilities will include:

• Involvement in the production of the project specification
• Procurement of all building materials
• Preparation of sub-contractor enquires and scope of works
• Analysis of sub-contractor quotations and negotiation
• Production and implementation of the project programmes
• Management of Site Managers and Assistant Site Managers
• Direct liaison with Design Consultants; Structural Engineer, Architect, Mechanical and Electrical and Landscape Architect
• Management and implementation of health and safety regulations including method statements, risk and COSHH assessments
• Agreement and approval of variations, day work activities and sub-contractor payments
• build completion dates and direct involvement with clients regarding choices / bespoke requests.
• Ensuring that the on site management uphold the presentation of the site and maintain the level of quality required by the company. Supporting and dealing with all problems reported by the site managers as and when they arise
• Monitoring the progress of each site, liaising with the site personnel on a regular basis and making regular visits.

Qualifications & Experience

• HND/HNC/Degree - Construction Qualification
• CSCS Card
• SMSTS – certified
