The Job
The Company
Our client is a South-East based Main Contractor that’s been operating for over 20 years, specialising in new-build light industrial sites.
Their core business is the construction of manufacturing, distribution, out-of-town retail, service and data storage sectors. They have designed and built more than 100 of them. Projects range in size up to £20 m in locations across the country.
Their Health and Safety record is exemplary and, due to up-coming projects, they are now looking to add to Health and Safety workforce.
This is a great opportunity for a passionate Health and Safety Manager professional looking for a career opportunity within a Construction company that can boast excellent repeat business over time and who puts their Health and Safety responsibilities at the front of all they do.
You will be part of the delivery team, working autonomously on visiting numerous sites at any one time, across the southeast of England.
The Role
Provide Health & Safety, environmental and quality advice specific to the needs of the business
Ensure the company is proactive, up to date and complies with HSE, environmental legislation, developing environmental and quality strategies and maintaining company policies and procedures
Develop and maintain quality management systems in compliance with ISO9001
Carry out internal and external site inspections to ensure proper implementation of policies and procedures
Production of Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) and Lifting Plans
Production of all handover documentation, Operation and Maintenance manuals (O&M) and inspection tests and plans as required for major projects
Coordinate all activities related to the Document Control procedure, including technical documents, drawings and commercial correspondence
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal Health & Safety candidate will have:
• NEBOSH Certification
• Previous experience in a Health and Safety advisory or management role with experience in new build construction
• Experience of working for a main contractor or developer
• Be a hands-on leader who can inspire and motivate the team
• Strong organisational skills
• Exceptional eye for detail with a solution focused approach
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to forge and maintain strong working relationships with people at all levels of the organisation
