The Job

The Company

Our client, a M&E Sub Contractor is keen to appoint a Mechanical Estimator to assist with the pricing of Mechanical construction projects. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for the pricing of tenders via Bills of Quant’s, Spec and Drawings. Our client is able to undertake all aspects of Mechanical and Electrical engineering in the Building Services Industry from the initial enquiry, through design, installation, testing, commissioning to completion of the project.

The Role

Showing a stable and progressive career to date, you, a Mechanical Estimator, will be able to demonstrate experience within the residential, commercial and retail sectors. Having worked on projects ranging from £200k through to £5m, you will understand that pricing as an Estimator can be challenging regardless of the value. You will have a strong attention to detail and be technically competent with a good understanding of mechanical installation methods and pricing.

You will hold the responsibility of extracting the full client brief on receipt of the tender and will be able to price, hold tender adjudication meetings and be client facing in order to attend pre start meetings. Liaising with Project Engineers/Managers and Tender Planners is also a must for this role, to make sure that the clients are getting the full tender including risk assessments, design (for D&B) and initial project plans.

Qualifications & Experience

ther responsibilities with include carrying out site feasibility studies, taking necessary photographic evidence, looking at value engineering and organising internal estimating team. You will hold a City & Guilds, HND or related degree in Mechanical/Building Services Engineering.
