The Company

BSV are currently hiring for a Mechanical Estimator based in Hampshire for our client, a design and build Mechanical Contractor, to Estimate for Mechanical Building Services installations up to £1.5m. This is a great opportunity for a Mechanical Estimator with a proven track record who’s looking to take a step up in there career and be a key player in the development of our clients estimating department. Our client has a solid reputation in the Mechanical Building Services industry and is looking for someone trustworthy and hard-working to be taken in to the nucleus of the company. You will be working unsupervised, so will need to possess a strong work ethic.

The Role

As a Mechanical Estimator for our client some of your duties will include:
• To provide estimated costs of proposed projects and survey/cost completed
• To carry out estimating for commercial plumbing and heating projects – internal and external clients
• To prepare detailed forward plans of work commitments and appropriate labour requirements.
• To liaise with departmental staff, client departments, contractors, suppliers and statutory authorities in matters relating to work as appropriate.
• To monitor and control the day-to-day finance of all estimated contracts, up to and including production of final accounts
• To adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems

Qualifications & Experience

• Background in pipefitting is preferred, due to the nature of projects, but not essential.
• Relevant Mechanical Building Services degree, Vocational equivalent or City and Guilds.
• Demonstrable experience in estimating for Mechanical Building Services installation projects.
