The Job

The Company

Our client is an Essex based Electrical Installation trade contractor with a £50m turn over. They have an established London presence and install Electrical Building Services with contracts that include New-Build Shell and Core, Cat A & Cat B Fit-out and Residential refurbishment projects. These Electrical projects range from £250k to £5 million in value. They require an Electrical Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager to join the Central London office.

The Role

This is an ideal role for an Electrical Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager with good knowledge in Electrical and Mechanical Building Services. It’s an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic, ambitious and growing company to expand you career as a skilled Electrical / MEP Quantity Surveyor or Cost Manager.
This position will allow you to work across a range of projects and different contractual practices.

You will be responsible for Electrical Commercial Cost management duties which include:

Cost management control of numerous projects based from their City office
Produce monthly applications in line with contractual dates
Raising EWN's or NCE's to the client and pricing these works
Involvement from pre-start activities, to assessing the contract for any discrepancies through to agreeing and negotiating Final Accounts
Monitoring cost control on each project to ensure that each project is being completed within budget including producing monthly CVR's and setting provisions for each project.
Monthly reports to show cash flow projections and provision of cost control services during construction
Sub-Contractors variation account
Assessment of the sub-contractor's progress claims
Production of variations and delay claims and advising on cost implications
Valuing and agreeing contract variations in accordance with the terms of the contract
Re-measuring work on-site

Qualifications & Experience

Ideally but not essentially:

ONC, HNC, BSC or Similar in Quantity Surveying
Microsoft Office - Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
Have previously worked with an established Electrical Building Services company in Central London
Have knowledge of Electrical Project Engineer/Manager Commercial Refurbishment and Fit-out project experience in Hi-Spec residential and Commercial property.
