The Job

The Company

One of my newest clients in Central London is now looking for Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Building Services team. The company is a leading international, independent real estate consultancy. They work with owners, occupiers, developers and funders, across both private and public sectors, to help them get more out of their real estate, at every stage of the property life cycle. The company has been established over 30 years ago and is has got now a skilled team of engineers, surveyors, technical specialists, consultants and project managers operating across the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe.

Due to a very busy workload, we are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead our MEP projects in Bristol office. You will be working alongside two other engineers in the office who undertake Operational Engineering. On many projects, you will be working with the in-house project managers based in the Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter offices. The Bristol office covers a wide area across the South West, South and South Wales so you need to be prepared to do some travelling to sites

The Role

• Receiving enquiries from project manager colleagues or clients.
• Be Technically sound and able to prepare Technical Specifications
• Have good understanding of mechanical systems design.
• Undertake mechanical system technical reviews
• Assisting with preparing fee quotations.
• Carry out site inspections, feasibility studies and budget cost plans.
• Specification and Design up to RIBA stage 4 followed by project monitoring
• Good communication and presentation skills during workshops with client and architect.
• Keeping an eye on the financial health of your projects.
• Build relationships with new clients and maintain relationships with current clients
• Adherence to Health & Safety procedures.
• Occasional support to the Operational Engineering team on surveys etc.

Qualifications & Experience

• Ideally 5+ years of exposure in mechanical building services design.
• Ideally Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
• Be proficient with MsOffice, AutoCAD, IES, Revit will be preferable
• Ideally be Chartered with CIBSE or IMechE
• Excellent report writing and communication skills are required and the ability to liaise professionally with clients and colleagues is essential.
