Role Overview:

We are looking for a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer with demonstratable knowledge, ideally in the rail sector. The successful candidate will work within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team on a range of rail infrastructure projects, contributing to the design and development of mechanical systems. The role will involve collaboration with civil, structural, and geotechnical experts to ensure seamless project delivery. This would be an opportunity to oversee the small mechanical department and make it your own.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design mechanical systems for rail infrastructure, including HVAC, fire protection, and other mechanical services.• Prepare detailed mechanical design drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure integrated design solutions across projects.
• Ensure compliance with relevant UK rail standards and regulations.
• Assist in project management, including coordination with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments as required.
• Experience with heating/cooling, ventilation, domestic hot & cold water.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least two-four years of mechanical design experience in the UK.
• Proficient in relevant software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) and familiar with UK rail standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
