The company:

I am currently looking for a Sustainability Consultant for a client of mine who has been on the market since 2000, they are a team of like-minded professionals dedicated to delivering commercially viable sustainable building solutions. We take pride in the quality of our work. While they primarily focus on design, we also provide strategic advice to developers, owners, and occupiers throughout all stages of development. Their engineers serve as Low Carbon Consultants, and we maintain a rigorous accreditation program to ensure sustainability is integral to our designs.

Additionally, our dedicated sustainability team—comprising consultants, assessors, and building simulation engineers—offers expert advice and analysis to ensure that project sustainability policy requirements are met effectively and economically. Our client conduct BREEAM Assessments, including bespoke variants, across all sectors, achieving the highest levels of accreditation. We are also accredited Home Quality Mark (HQM) Assessors and Certified European Passivhaus Consultants.

Job responsibilities as a Sustainability Consultant:

They are looking for a Sustainability Consultant with primary focus on BREEAM. 2+ years’ experience preferred, with the intention of growing their skillset in sustainability, BREEAM (all versions and tenures), energy policy, energy strategies, Passivhaus, WELL and FitWel, energy and sustainability reporting for planning applications (inc. circular economy and whole life/embodied carbon) and delivery of sustainability and energy targets on project completion.

In addition to the above, the successful candidate will;
·Liaise and coordinate with engineers internally and externally
·Attend internal and external workshops & meetings
·Support the team in the development of understanding and implementing sustainability measures throughout the business
·Attend and contribute to internal weekly Sustain meetings to review progress, deadlines and resources
·Assist to ensure all projects are driven to provide the best value solutions and delivered on time and within budget
The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
·Excellent communication skills
·Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
·Ensure deadlines are set and time is allowed for feedback before task completion
·Assess relative risk and allocate time accordingly

Job requirements:

A Degree in Environmental Engineering or Building Services Design or Architecture
