The company:

We are representing a building services consultancy based in Southampton/Winchester area who are looking for a motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join their friendly team. They work on a variety of schemes such as education, industrial, office, retail, leisure etc.

The Key Responsibilities:

• Develop outline schemes, technical reports, sketch designs, and concept layouts, along with detailed specifications, schedules, drawings, and contract documents per RIBA stages.
• Contribute to contractor pre-qualification, tendering procedures, and tender reviews.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and the design team, addressing client needs while mentoring and inspiring junior colleagues and engineers.

Key Skills:

We are looking for someone with strong communication skills in written and spoken English, who is able to negotiate effectively. You should be decisive, proactive, and able to work independently. As a key team member, you will collaborate with clients on design strategies and manage projects from inception to completion. This role is ideal for someone with excellent interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a desire for career growth.

The ideal candidate:

•Should be confident with IET Regulations, Building Regulations, BREEAM and the principles of sustainable and low carbon design and be competent with electrical engineering calculations (Amtech/Trimble, Relux, etc).
•Have REVIT experience
•Ideally have at least 2 years experience in the UK in a consulting engineering environment
•Have relevant experience in electrical design engineering, including areas such as power supplies, PV/EVC, lighting and alarm systems
