Our client is a growing engineering consultancy looking for an Intermediate Fire Engineer to join their team. They provide innovative, compliant, and practical fire engineering solutions across a range of diverse projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop fire engineering strategies in accordance with BS 9999, BS 7974, and Approved Document B.
  • Design and assess active fire protection systems such as sprinklers, water mist, and gaseous suppression.
  • Conduct fire risk assessments and offer expert fire safety advice.
  • Assist with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling and fire simulations as needed.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, and regulatory bodies to ensure project compliance.
  • Prepare technical reports, fire safety statements, and evacuation strategies.
  • Support senior engineers in project execution and mentor junior team members.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline (BEng/MEng/MSc).
  • 2-5 years of experience in fire engineering consultancy or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of fire safety regulations such as BS 9999, BS 7974, and Approved Document B.
  • Experience with fire suppression systems (sprinklers, water mist, gaseous systems).
  • Familiarity with AutoSprink, PyroSim, FDS, CFAST is advantageous (but not essential).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
