About Us:

My client is a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy based in Durham but serving clients across the UK. With a growing portfolio of infrastructure, building services, and civil engineering projects across the UK, they pride themselves on delivering innovative, sustainable, and practical design solutions. They are now looking to expand their dynamic team with the addition of a skilled BIM Technician.

The Role:

Our clients are seeking an experienced BIM Technician with at least 2 years of UK-based experience to support the delivery of engineering design projects. The successful candidate will work closely with their engineers and project managers, producing accurate 2D and 3D models, coordinating with other disciplines, and ensuring BIM standards are met across all project stages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce and manage 3D models and 2D drawings using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
• Support project teams in the implementation of BIM processes and workflows.
• Coordinate BIM models across multidisciplinary design teams.
• Maintain project BIM documentation in line with UK BIM standards (e.g., ISO 19650).
• Collaborate with engineers to develop design solutions and ensure constructability.
• Perform clash detection and assist in resolving coordination issues.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of company BIM standards and libraries.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of BIM/CAD experience within a UK engineering or construction environment.
• Proficient in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
• Working knowledge of UK BIM standards and workflows (e.g., ISO 19650, PAS 1192).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
• Experience in MEP, civil, or structural disciplines is desirable.
• HNC/HND or relevant degree in a construction, engineering, or design-related field.
