Overview:

A well-established and steadily growing building services consultancy based in London is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their team. This is a practice where engineers are empowered to manage their own workload, liaise directly with clients, and make key project decisions without layers of hierarchy. This Senior would take full ownership of their own projects, from initial concept through to completion and handover. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead electrical design for a variety of building services projects (commercial, residential, mixed-use, etc.)
• Develop concept, schematic, and detailed designs using current industry software and standards
• Act as primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders throughout the design process
• Carry out site visits, surveys, inspections, and client meetings as required
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and external consultants
• Ensure project delivery aligns with client expectations, timelines, and budgets
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers when needed
• Maintain compliance with UK regulations and building codes

Requirements:

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in electrical building services design within the UK
• Proven track record of delivering projects autonomously
• In-depth knowledge of UK building regulations and design standards
• Proficient in relevant software tools (e.g. AutoCAD, Dialux/Relux, Amtech, Revit MEP a plus)
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Strong site experience and comfortable attending regular site visits
• Right to work in the UK – no sponsorship available
