About the Role:

We’re seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a dynamic engineering consultancy in Milton Keynes, focused on delivering sustainable, low-carbon electrical design solutions across a variety of sectors including residential, education, commercial, and public infrastructure. You will play a key role in leading electrical design projects from concept through to completion, ensuring technical excellence, compliance, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and delivery of electrical building services, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, security, and renewable energy systems.
• Develop sustainable, low-energy solutions aligned with client goals and industry standards.
• Produce detailed design documentation, specifications, calculations, and reports.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, architects, clients, and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional development.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and risk assessments.
• Conduct site visits for inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting as needed.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, regulations, and best practices in electrical engineering.

Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Chartered or working towards Chartered status preferred.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in building services electrical design within consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems design, including lighting, power distribution, fire & security, and renewable technologies.
• Experience with BIM software (Revit preferred) and electrical design tools.
• Familiarity with UK electrical regulations, building codes, and sustainability standards.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with ability to manage client relationships.
• Commercial awareness and ability to balance technical performance with project constraints.
