The Role
The role involves producing structural calculations and technical drawings in compliance with British Standard design codes, Eurocodes, Building Regulations, and Network Rail standards. This work may be performed manually or using relevant design software and is intended for clients, external professionals, and regulatory authorities.
Main Duties:
The structural engineer within the consultancy will:
- Prepare structural engineering designs, drawings, specifications, reports, and general correspondence.
- Liaise and communicate with the structures design team, other disciplines, and external clients.
- Deliver work within agreed time frames and specifications.
- Review and verify structural calculations and drawings.
- Provide guidance and supervision to technicians in the production of drawings.
- Coordinate and communicate with external professionals.
- Represent the consultancy at external meetings, in written communications when required, and conduct site inspections.
