About the Role:

We are currently looking for a motivated and skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our client who is a well-established and multidisciplinary building services consultancy. The role offers the chance to work on a wide variety of high-profile projects across sectors including healthcare, commercial, education, residential, and public buildings. As part of the electrical engineering team, you’ll play a key role in the design and delivery of innovative and sustainable building services solutions from concept through to completion as well as having a chance to grow your career.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design of electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, data, security systems, and emergency systems.
• Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Coordinate design work with in-house mechanical engineers and external consultants including architects and contractors.
• Attend client meetings, design workshops, and site visits as required.
• Ensure compliance with relevant British Standards, IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), and Building Regulations.
• Assist in delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Incorporate sustainable and energy-efficient technologies into designs.

Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
• Proven UK experience in the design of electrical building services.
• Strong understanding of relevant legislation, codes, and standards.
• Proficient in design software such as Amtech, Dialux/Relux, AutoCAD, and Revit MEP.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Chartered status or working towards CEng (desirable but not essential).
