About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a dynamic and collaborative building services engineering consultancy. You’ll work on a broad portfolio of projects across sectors such as commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and more, delivering innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective mechanical design solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with UK experience in mechanical building services design who is looking to further their career within a technically strong, forward-thinking team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop mechanical engineering designs from concept through to construction stage.
• Produce calculations, technical reports, specifications, and drawings.
• Coordinate with internal teams (electrical, sustainability, CAD/BIM) and external stakeholders (architects, contractors, and clients).
• Attend site visits, inspections, and project meetings as required.
• Ensure designs meet all relevant British Standards, CIBSE guidelines, and Building Regulations.
• Contribute to the development of sustainable and energy-efficient solutions.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services (or equivalent).
• Demonstrable experience in mechanical design for UK building services.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, hot & cold water services, and ventilation design.
• Familiarity with industry software such as Hevacomp, AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and IES.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Working knowledge of UK building regulations and CIBSE standards.
• Chartered status or working towards CEng (desirable but not essential).
