About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer at Graduate/Junior or Intermediate level to join a dynamic building services consultancy team based in Bristol. This role offers exposure to a diverse range of projects across multiple sectors, including commercial, residential, healthcare, and education.
As part of a collaborative and supportive design team, you will play an active role in developing innovative, sustainable electrical engineering solutions. You’ll gain hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle—from concept to completion—with opportunities to grow technically and professionally.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the design and specification of electrical building services systems including power, lighting, fire alarms, security, and data systems

Produce design calculations using software tools such as Amtech, Dialux/Relux, and AutoCAD/Revit

Support senior engineers with technical reports, drawings, and schedules

Participate in site visits and client meetings

Work collaboratively with other disciplines including mechanical engineers, architects, and contractors

Ensure designs comply with current regulations and standards

Keep up to date with emerging technologies and sustainability best practices
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline

Knowledge of relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, Dialux)

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Enthusiastic, proactive attitude with a desire to learn and grow

Understanding of UK building regulations and design standards (e.g., BS7671, CIBSE guidelines)
Desirable:

Experience working in a consultancy environment (for Intermediate applicants)

Working toward or holding membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g., IET)
