About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer at Graduate/Junior or Intermediate level to join a dynamic building services consultancy team based in Bristol. This role offers exposure to a diverse range of projects across multiple sectors, including commercial, residential, healthcare, and education.

As part of a collaborative and supportive design team, you will play an active role in developing innovative, sustainable electrical engineering solutions. You’ll gain hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle—from concept to completion—with opportunities to grow technically and professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design and specification of electrical building services systems including power, lighting, fire alarms, security, and data systems

• Produce design calculations using software tools such as Amtech, Dialux/Relux, and AutoCAD/Revit

• Support senior engineers with technical reports, drawings, and schedules

• Participate in site visits and client meetings

• Work collaboratively with other disciplines including mechanical engineers, architects, and contractors

• Ensure designs comply with current regulations and standards

• Keep up to date with emerging technologies and sustainability best practices

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline

• Knowledge of relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, Dialux)

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Enthusiastic, proactive attitude with a desire to learn and grow

• Understanding of UK building regulations and design standards (e.g., BS7671, CIBSE guidelines)

Desirable:

• Experience working in a consultancy environment (for Intermediate applicants)

• Working toward or holding membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g., IET)
