Our client, a leading fire safety and building services consultancy, needs a skilled and motivated Fire Engineer to join their expanding team in London. Known for their technical expertise and a highly collaborative, client-focused approach, the firm delivers tailored fire safety and building services solutions across a wide range of sectors, including residential, commercial, healthcare, heritage, and high-rise developments.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver bespoke fire strategies for a variety of projects, fully integrated with building services systems
- Ensure fire strategies comply with UK fire safety legislation, building regulations, and relevant guidance (e.g. ADB, BS 9999, BS 7974)
- Collaborate with internal and external building services engineers, architects, structural engineers, and design consultants
- Work closely with building control, fire authorities, and approving bodies to gain necessary approvals and maintain compliance
- Participate in building services coordination meetings to ensure fire safety measures are effectively integrated
- Conduct fire risk assessments, site visits, and reviews of building services layouts as part of strategy development
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and best practice within the fire engineering team, and mentor junior engineers as needed
Candidate Requirements
- A degree in Fire Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline
- Proven experience developing fire strategies within the UK building services and construction industry
- Strong technical knowledge of building services systems (e.g. smoke control, fire detection, suppression) and their role in fire safety design
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables independently, while also contributing to collaborative team environments
- Working towards or holding chartership (e.g. with the IFE or CIBSE) is advantageous
