My client is a continuous collective of architects, engineers, designers and urbanists. We design at every scale from city masterplans, neighbourhoods, parks, streets and buildings to specialist, bespoke light and acoustic installations. They area well respected company based in Manchester and working within healthcare sector.
They are seeking a digital engineering/BIM specialist to join our dynamic building services engineering team – people who revel in the opportunity to work on challenging, high-profile projects in our stimulating, inter-disciplinary design studios. You will have a unique opportunity to work on a diverse range of challenging projects in sectors including workplace, healthcare, education, historic buildings, sport and leisure and sci-tech.
About the role of a BIM Technician:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven track record in working with large and complex BIM models in a building services engineering capacity.
Responsibilities focus on facilitating our engineering team in the successful integration of Digital Engineering, whilst managing a number of concurrent projects’ BIM models. You will be required to attend relevant BIM meetings and workshops, and mentor less experienced Revit users, trainees and apprentices.
The role will also include supporting our profession wide Digital Engineering Leads in the development and implementation of company’s Digital Engineering and BIM strategy, and the deployment of new and advanced methods of engineering modelling and simulation.
Job requirements:
Passionate about Digital Engineering, Building Information Modelling (BIM), and innovation.
Proven experience in delivering projects within a BIM environment (essential), with expertise in design, calculations, and scheduling using Revit (highly advantageous).
Knowledgeable in advanced BIM technologies and familiar with programming languages such as Dynamo and Python.
Thrives in a collaborative team environment and demonstrates strong self-organization skills.
Proficient in BIM project creation, model auditing, and the design and coordination of mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) services, including MEP content creation.
Excellent communicator, capable of engaging effectively with clients, contractors, and design team members.
Able to articulate Digital Engineering and BIM concepts clearly, managing the production of BIM models and ensuring proactive coordination across all design disciplines.
