One of my good clients who is the world’s first engineering consultant to be certified carbon neutral is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team. My client mission is to provide a pathway to net-zero-carbon for all the buildings they design and because of that they need Electrical Engineers. This fantastic role is based in Dublin office due to the company’s expansion. The role is to join the Building Services (MEP) team and work on some great projects.

The job responsibilities:

This is an excellent opportunity for skilled electrical engineer to join our team at Dublin office. You will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of innovative electrical design solutions for some of the most exciting building projects.

As an Electrical Design Engineer you will work across a variety of sectors. The projects range from public, data centre, healthcare, rail and residential. You will work in a team of expert engineers and MEP technicians. The role entails working closely with colleagues of various disciplines to help manage the delivery of projects together with working on your own.

Manage engineering projects and co-ordinate resource and activities to achieve short-term time and financial targets
Produce engineering designs, calculations and specifications, using appropriate technical software
Co-ordinate input from other disciplines and specialisms as required in order to finish the project
Prepare technical reports in accordance with clients’ briefs on time
Supervise and co-ordinate the production of technical drawings
Check calculations, specifications, drawings and reports produced by others, in accordance with Operational Procedures
Attend and participate in client and (internal and external) project meetings to coordinate results

The Skills:

• Educated to degree level in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (MEng or BEng or equivalent)
• Having gained relevant experience within a consultancy environment or a MEP installer
• You are already well versed in the use of relevant design software including Amtech and ideally, Dialux.
• Need to have proven ability in producing low energy design solutions or an interest in MEP sector
• Carrying out site inspections and surveys because this is a fundament of design
• Detail design development is crucial part of the role
• Have a passion for creative and intuitive design in order to design the electrical systems
• Given the collaborative and client focused nature of this role, excellent communication skills and experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential
